Groomzillas

Having an opinion about what happens on your wedding day doesn’t make you a Bridezilla, a Groomzilla or any other kind of towering monster. It means you care. Your wedding is the most important day of your life. It is also one you’ve shelled out a lot for, especially since many retailers and service providers seem to add a hefty premium once they hear the magic word “wedding.” It’s no wonder many brides and grooms get huffy when people try and fob them off with something they didn’t order, while charging them top dollar.

Having said that, there are a handful of people who get just a little bit… well, let’s say over the top. We’ve rounded up a few for your pleasure… and horror!

Bride with no chill

My sister is getting married on Friday. She threw the ring at her fiance yesterday and stormed off down the street barefoot because she asked him when he was picking up some decorations for the wedding and he asked when he should.

It’s HIS special day

Friend is a photographer. Does weddings. Got punched in the face by the groom because the groom decided that the photographer was “taking too many photos of the bride.”

The wedding planner and the bride’s special year

A bride once called having a melt down because her friend got engaged as well and was planning to get married in the same year as she was... Apparently it was her special year and not just a day. She threw a huge fit that this girl was only getting married to "steal her thunder"... Yes, because no one else can have a life at the same time as you. Her friends date wasn't even in the same month or season. Hers was in October and her friends was in June.... Brides sometimes don't think rationally.

Love or money?

I work for a florist/event coordinating shop…. A groom from a wedding we just did is claiming the venue they used stole from them because he didn't receive wedding presents from all of his guests and he's 100% certain every single one brought them something (they requested money by the way, only money). So now he's wanting to sue the venue while also calling all of his guests to make sure they gave him money for his wedding gift.

The petty princess

I worked a wedding where I basically had to play a game of telephone all day long. I'm a photographer and came onsite the day of a wedding to meet with the planner/coordinator who promptly told me to be careful around the bride. Apparently at the rehearsal the prior night the bride thought the coordinator was taking too much of her time (after two questions), and relayed through her bridesmaid that the coordinator was no longer allowed to speak to the bride or even look her in the eye…. Also should mention that when I came onsite for the wedding, I was able to locate the bride by the sound of her screaming at her hair/makeup artists. By the time I came into the bridal suite, she had switched to screaming at her bridesmaids for looking prettier than her and made them change their hairstyles to "look uglier.”

Some men just want to see the world burn

The groom got mega plastered and smashed a bottle of cognac on the dance floor and literally tried to set in on fire. The function supervisor tried to tell him very politely that he couldn't and he got upset about that and started screaming "this is my wedding and if I want to burn this place down I will" cops were called.
